Beauty Queen with a Mission

Despite having many titles under belt including Miss Singapore Universe 2006 finalist, Miss Tourism Metropolitan 2007, Mrs Singapore World 2011 and also successfully cliched the 1st runner-up position of Mrs United Nation International 2011 held in Jamaica, Vanessa is a beauty queen with a mission to build, encourage and inspire young ladies from disadvantaged background to pursue their dreams and realise their true potential.

“Inner Beauty Crusade”

Graduated from National University of Singapore with an honours degree in Social Work and Sociology with experience in counselling abortion and child abuses cases, her 6-month self-esteem building project, “Be the Queen in Your Life” for The Salvation Army Gracehaven Home has been a huge success and has been covered in various media platform such as Channel News Asia, 938LIVE and Capital 95.8. The finale of the same project, “ The Salvation Army Gracehaven Pageant & Charity Dinner” that aimed to reveal inner beauty in a one-and-only contest that valued character over looks concluded on 2 March 2012 with good success and had been themed by The Straits Times on 3 March 2012 as a “Beauty Pageant with a Difference” and by The New Paper on 5 March as “Inner Beauty Beats Looks”.
